Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)

As Bradford's leading provider of Relationship and Sex Education (RSE), we aid and support in all schools with their mandatory requirement for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE in secondary, and Relationships Education in primary), as well as supporting teachers and staff with their own approach for delivery of RSE, on a consultancy basis.

Free RSE support and delivery for Bradford secondary schools

Due to our collaboration with JAMES and HALE (commissioned by Bradford Council) we provide free delivery support  to Bradford secondary schools, including sessions for young people, training for staff, consultancy, and support for RSE curriculum approach and implementation.

RSE support and delivery for primary schools

Where primary schools wish to address areas in their curriculum such as emotional health and wellbeing, keeping safe, positive relationships, life transitions and gender equality, we offer delivery support, support to staff and bespoke training and resources to empower and equip staff in school.

RSE support in other settings

We can offer additional support for delivery of RSE to children who are looked after in whatever setting is appropriate for the child/ren, including specialist education provision and children’s residential and supported living settings.

We will work with you to understand and identify the specific needs of your young people and the required impact of RSE, building our programme to meet the needs of your school, children and communities.

'The support provided by Step 2 has been absolutely outstanding over the course of the year. We benefited from the specialist expertise brought by Step 2, which has supplemented our Personal Development programme through the delivery of key elements of the Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum and through the delivery of CPD sessions for staff. The support provided has been highly impactful and very effective, as evidenced by student evaluations. It has been invaluable in preparation for Ofsted.'

Experienced, qualified staff create a dynamic learning space for children and young people to engage in and learn from the RSE curriculum, equipping them with empowering knowledge for life about themselves, their health and identity.

Where children in school have given feedback, they say they prefer RSE to be delivered by an outside professional. Consequently, engagement is high where Step 2 staff have delivered RSE directly.
